www.cbak.com 6 In Touch ASSOCIATE MEMBER SNAPSHOT TELL US SOMETHING ABOUT YOURSELF THAT MOST PEOPLE DON’T KNOW. I was born and raised in Nebraska and came to Kansas to play baseball in college (two years at Neosho County C.C. in Chanute, and my final two years at Washburn). Believe it or not, my parents were right, I was there to get my degree and not focus on baseball. WHAT ARE YOUR 3 GOALS FOR THE YEAR AHEAD? 1. Since I recently transitioned to the role of Kansas account manager after serving Oklahoma, I would like to get to know our Kansas members much better. 2. I am a history nut, so would like to listen to more podcasts and books on tape as I travel around the state. 3. I would like to eat better and exercise more often. I can already tell you 1 and 2 will be easier to accomplish. WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOU’RE NOT AT WORK? My wife, Audra and I have three children who are extremely active (Nick – 20, baseball at Washburn University; Maddie – 17, basketball and volleyball; and Ally – 12, basketball, volleyball, softball and band), which puts golf, fishing, hunting, and reading on the back burner for me, but we would not miss the opportunity to watch them play for the world. When we are not attending one of their events, we are usually at home trying to get caught up with laundry, yard work or making a home-cooked meal. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE QUOTE? I do my best to live by the “Golden Rule.” YOUR MEDIA MIX: PLAYLIST, MAGAZINES, E-NEWSLETTERS Music – Pandora (a good blend of ‘70s, ‘80s and ‘90s hits) I get a lot of road time, so I listen to a blend of XM stations (music, sports radio and The Bloomberg). The majority of my magazines and e-newsletters are from banking/industry trades, and a few economists.  Jeff Steiner FHLBank Topeka
